Swimming Pools
There are five aquatic venues in the Tauranga area available for public use. From the stunning Mount Hot pools to the thrill of Baywave there is something for everyone who wants to enjoy Tauranga’s indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities.
Baywave TECT Aquatic & Leisure Centre
Baywave is one of Tauranga’s top attraction due to its biggest wave pool in New Zealand. The centre features a 25m Lap Pool, Leisure Pool with Wave Machines and Hydroslide, Splash Pool, Spa Pool, Steam & Sauna facilities, Gym, Café, Aqua Aerobic classes and Childcare facilities.
Greerton Aquatic & Leisure Centre
Greerton Aquatic & Leisure Centre features 3 pools: a Hydrotherapy (18m @ 33 degrees), Lap pool (25m @ 28.5 degrees) and Learners pool (16m @ 33 degrees). It also has a gym, Learn to Swim programme and aqua aerobic classes.
Memorial Pools
Memorial Pool is a popular summertime destination for the whole family. It is an outdoor pool which opens during the summer months only. It features a learners pool, lap pool and on site BBQ.
Mount Hot Pools
Located beneath Mt Maunganui, the Mount Hot Pools are the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the views of the Mount. There is a choice of heated salt water pools with varying temperatures for your relaxation and enjoyment. Facilities include a children’s pool, passive pool, active pool, two spa pools and massage therapy.
Make sure you apply for your Tauranga Residents Card to receive your discounted entry to the Hot Pools. Just bring a letter with your address and complete an application form at reception.
Otumoetai Pools
Otumoetai Pool is an indoor, 25 metre heated swimming pool and separate children’s pool with roll-away PVC shutter walls. These walls are closed in winter to keep in the warmth both for the swimming pool and the patrons. In summer time these are opened to take advantage of the summer warmth.
