Looking for childcare for your little one can be stressful and daunting. There are so many to choose from, all offering different services and prices. My little girl is at Nature’s Cove (Millers Road) two days a week and she loves it there. I had visited three daycare centres within my area and decided on Nature’s Cove. I knew immediately when I walked in that it was the right place for my little girl. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and because of the small class sizes it felt homely and familiar.
Nature’s Cove has three rooms available for under 5s: a babies room, a toddler room and a preschool room. The babies and toddlers share the same centre but are separated into different rooms and the preschool is located next door with their own facilities and outside playground. What I love about Nature’s Cove is that the outside area has mature trees for shade and grass to play in bare feet (much like being at home). Lots of space to run around and burn off that energy! The separation of babies and toddlers is also comforting as babies need their own space where it is quiet and safe to explore without the disruption of noisy toddlers.
My little girl has been in the toddler’s room for the past 7 months and she has learnt so much during that time. At Nature’s Cove the focus is on supporting the toddler to develop social-competency and self–help/independence skills. Here she has learnt from an early age (22 months) to drink from a cup, use tongs to serve her own food, take away her dirty dishes to the kitchen, clean her hands after her meals and so much more! Being an only child, her social development has also improved where she is comfortable with sharing, shows compassion towards others and is generally a well rounded child.
If you are looking for a childcare centre in the Brookfield area, I highly recommend Nature’s Cove. They also have a centre in Otumoetai too.
